October 11 - 18, 2019

This was my fourth American Cruise Lines cruise, my second time in Washington State, and my first time in Oregon and (briefly) Idaho.  Like the earlier cruises, it was fun, relaxing, scenic, informative, and just a great time in general.  We actually had two “riverlorians” on this trip - Smithsonian Journeys had a large group on board, with their own lecturer, and ACL had their own.  Both cooperated well.

The photos on each page are geotagged, so if you care you can see where each was taken, usually to within a few meters.  I haven’t edited them except to add GPS data to those not geotagged in-camera.  The photos have been size-reduced for the web, but I’d be happy to send you full-size individual photos, or a DVD with all of the photos.  I’ve also added a map showing where each day’s photos were taken.

To see the photos for each day, use the links at the top of each page.  At each port, we had one or more shore excursions.  Each photo page includes only the (italicized) ACL description of the excursion that I did that day, plus any comments of my own; the ACL website has full information on the other possible excursions.  Any comments of my own are in [brackets].

There were lots of informative talks and slide shows on the area, musical entertainment, etc.
