July 16-27, 2018
This was my second American Cruise Lines riverboat trip, actually on the same riverboat, Queen of the Mississippi, as last year’s Upper Mississippi cruise. (It did another Upper Mississippi cruise the week after I disembarked in St. Louis.) As before, it was fun, relaxing, scenic, informative, and just a great time in general.
The photos on each page are geotagged, so if you care you can see where each was taken, usually to within a few meters. I haven’t edited them except to add GPS data to those not geotagged in-camera. The photos have been size-reduced for the web, but I’d be happy to send you full-size individual photos, or a DVD with all of the photos. I’ve also added a map showing where each day’s photos were taken.
To see the photos for each day, use the links at the top of each page.
At each port, we had shore excursions, some free and some not, as well as tourist information, local street maps, etc. As with the Upper Mississippi cruise last fall, there was a “riverlorian” - actually a couple this time - who had a number of sessions covering river lore (not always the same as history!), background information about the area, etc.
